Task Prepare a case study of a particular industry, agency or organisation’s process of engaging Indigenous people in natural and cultural resource management. Compare and contrast the approach you have explored with approaches identified in other industry and agency groups investigated by other students in class.This assignment will be presented in three parts.Part One: Short Presentation (10 mins)Prepare a short presentation on the topic you have chosen ready for presentation in week 8 of Semester. The presentation should: 1. Provide a background to the industry/agency you are investigating. 2. Introduce the broad structure of your case study. 3. Highlight the key findings 4. Identify any relevant recommendations. You can choose to complete this assessment in one of three ways: · As a PowerPoint presentation with voice recording; · As a video presentation using something like Windows Moviemaker or similar software · As a live presentation in class – you can do this even if you are an external student who is living in or around Darwin. Part Two: Report (2,500 words)Your report on this topic should explore the strategies used in the process of seeking Indigenous people’s engagement in natural and cultural resource management. It should include: 1. A summary of the industry/agency approach to engagement. You may want to explore policy, agency research, particular case studies, reports or other literature. 2. An assessment of strategies/policies and examples of recent actions or implementation of policy. 3. Recommendations for changes and/or developments in policy related to engagement.
